And on another side note .... Truth be told, I must confess that I don't like making scrapbooking pages. Primarily because its such a HUGE project compared to my simple cards. lol (OK, so I'm just lazy! lol) But, when my cousin came around last week with my Aunt and her super ADORABLE baby girl, I just HAD to make a quick scrapbook page for her. Since I don't work well under pressure, I had about an hour to finish the entire layout. BUT, I kept my head cool and decided to - KEEP IT SIMPLE! :D So, I came up with this cutesy page...
Oh, you know what? I just realised that I FORGOT to put the Baby's name on there! Geesh@me!

Quiet elegant Sizzix Ink-Its Letterpress technique
Good Tuesday everyone! I just made a card using the Sizzix Ink-Its Letterpress plates that I got recently and I thought I'd share it with you guys. I used 2 plates.
I used this as the main background:
And I used this on the long strip (that's supposed to be a belly-band like thingy) behind the sentiment:
And this is the simple, girly card I came up with. Since its supposed to be a girly card, naturally, I had to add the 3D kraft paper roses that I've made too! lol I think it turned out beautiful...

Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz Tattered Florals Die
I love flowers of any kinds and shapes. Although I prefer big blooms because I think the petals together, give out an interesting shade of shadows and light. With scrapbooking, I've learnt to make a few flowers using my Sizzix dies. I've bought the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals for over a year now, but, I've not had a chance to work with them. There are 4 different shapes and sizes of blooms on this particular die. So, its really a great deal for the price of one die.
So, today, I took out a whole bunch of kraft papers that I got from my various die shipments and decided to turn those into tissue-like, 3D paper flowers. So far, I came up with about 3 kinds of blooms. I've tried taking pictures of them individually and together to see the different effects I can mix and match with.
This first one is the basic flower I made using all the floral template available from this die:
I made 2 separate flowers by layering the mid-sized daisy template and the smaller rose bloom:
This is what I get by combining the first layered floral with the small rose. It turned out into a huge peony-like flower that measures around 6.5cm or 2 inches in diameter:
Taadaa! Don't you just LOVE flowers?!?! :D
I've not tried colouring them yet because the paper is very thin. I'll try to see if I can spray some colours on them later. TFL!

Post Eid 2011
Happy Eid to my Muslim friends! I know, I know, its a tad late. But hey! Better late than never, right? lol So, I recently made some simple book markers. These are super easy to make, so they are kinda addictive. I've not learn to make the regular book markers, ironically enough. The first I made were these corner ones. I love how they're super tiny! The best part was of course colouring them!
I then thought I'd make another set of super cute ones. I wanted to add a flower element to it. And voila! I came out with these pretty set of 6 colours!
This is what they look like after I've attached a satin ribbon to keep them in place.
Since they are gifts, I decided to pack them into plastic wrappers...

Kindness
Slm everyone! Its approximately 3.40 am on a brand new Saturday. I know most everyone is dreaming away merrily in their comfy beds but I just cannot stop playing around with some of the digital files I got recently. I'm taking a stab at digital art! I find that this medium is far more forgiving than paper crafting. So, this might be a permanent feature in my blogging adventure. Now, I've recently bought 2 books of Helen Steiner Rice's poems and I thought I'd incorporate some of her inspiring poems in my little exercise. I will, God willing, look for more poems to work with in the coming weeks. I know this is not exactly what I have planned when I started the blog. But hey! Life is full of wonderful surprises meant to be shared, right? So, enjoy this little project. TFL! xox :)
